Eyes Wide Open

After spending one whole day in Dymocks, I feel like a new person, really do. Bought Every Nine Seconds by Joseph Brockton and My Name Is Red by Orhan Pamuk, both are the books I've been thinking to get. The former one is a novel version of Queer As Folk, and the latter one is a very famous turkish literature. I also grab this book Tales From A Suitcase by Will Davies & Andrea Dal Bosco, which is about life of an Afghan. Of course I read quite a lot in the bookshop too, most of the time were spent on the philosophy and psychology section, very excited I was.

Then I went to have North Indian food with Wance and Patrick, watching the Bollywood music videos was absolutely delightful, god we just love it! I really like this genre of music now, especially after I listened to the CD given by Utility Fog's Peter. He promised to burn me some indian music, and finally I got it yesterday ... A CD called Bollywood Breaks by Enduser. hee hee... Shouldn't laugh, as it was really a great CD, actually it's more like a Bollywood Drum n' bass, good shit mann~! I'm playing it in my Allnighter show, Thanks Pete!

Talking about Allnigher, well I just got this exciting notice for my next upcoming Allnighter, which will be on 13th April 2-6am (Tuesday night - Wednesday morning). Oh yeah~ Wanna be my guest? or do a live set? How about a request? Let me know! *winks*

Oh, if you are curious about The Frames live that I saw last nite, I can tell you it was Mmmmmarvellous! It is a great Irish band in Dublin, so I grab all my Irish friends to go with me. They are all big fans of The Frames, and told me The Frames is as big as U2, you can pretty much imagine. Personally I prefer The Frames though, love the violinist!

Show was damn orsum - the performance, the crowd, the humous, the atmosphere, and more importantly, the Irish spirit. It was extremely pack, but there's no pushing at all, which was very great!! In the middle of the gig, my Irish friend Paul suddenly put me on his shoulder, Jeez! that was my first time ever sitting on somebody's shoulder in a gig!!! I was so amazed by the view that I see up in the air, I lit up my lighter, and everyone followed, it was absolutely fascinating! It was one of those scenes that can make some tears out. Unfortunately I didn't bring my camera, but the memories are all stored in the brain. :)

P.S. God I love all my three Pauls, they are all fabulous, all talented and all can dance!
P.P.S. Levis still owe me a CD. *grins*

There Is No Way I Knowing How

La Mala Educacion by Pedro Almodovar

Seriously, you can hardly be disappointed by this film - Bad Education (aka. La Mala Educacion), Pedro Almodovar is a excellent storytelling master. The way he constructs all the characters and the story was just magnificent. He builds a very simple concept, and starts to add different layers, constitutes a fascinating complexity. This Noir-style film is so unpredictable with interesting twists and thrills - Rape, Homo-erotic childhood, christianity, murder, drag queen and drugs...! It just really amazed me, I think it deserves a touchdown. [5 out of 5]

Not even mention how intelligent he design all those brillant settings! Use of Color was very unbridled, which creates a very rich texture of every scene. For instant, the Orange Cinema, the Red tavern, the Blue Office and the Brown House that's contrasting the bright Red chairs and the light blue swimming pool. It's just so beautiful.

How could I not to mention the big reason of why it is a must see movie? Gael Garcia Bernal. After seeing him in Y Tu Mama Tambien and The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Moto), his performance in La Mala Educacion has push himself to the boundary. Acting a character with multi-identities in the film is definitely a big challenge, but he just handles it perfectly well. He is now my most favorite actor, this person is worshipped by me and Pauly now. *grins*

OK, here is the synopsis: (from Yahoo!)
Young Spanish filmmaker Enrique (Fele Martinez) is paid a surprise visit by a young man (Gael Garcia Bernal) who claims to be his childhood friend from primary school, now looking for work as an actor. He goes by the stage name of Angel but Enrique knew him as Ignacio - his first lover. Angel has also written a screenplay, The Visit, which Enrique finds engrossing - a story based on their experiences at a Catholic school in the early 70s, where Fr Manolo (Daniel Gimenez Cacho) lusted after Ignacio. As Enrique shoots the film, the flashbacks reveal a more complicated story, as the lives of all concerned are unravelled.

Gone with Dimanche

"How's your Easter?" I was asked like 5 times on the street.

Since when strangers are so curious about how I spent my Easter? As a nullifidian, it really has nothing to do with me, usually I don't even like Easter, but the whole holiday was fabulous~

Thursday, me and Kath went to Joules Fine's DJ gig "U Show Us Yours" in The Sly Fox, but we missed Joules' set, since we came a bit late and left a bit early. However, I was still amazed by The Impossibles - 2DJs 1MC breakbeats trio, these three kids really know how to mix. From Britney Spear to Plump DJ, Coldplay to Miss Elliot. Excellent Night, I'll try to go in next Thursday nite, hopefully I won't miss Joules. :)

To whose interested in gathering with local young DJs, it's on every Thursday Nite, 8pm til late, Free Entry. In the meanwhile, check out their links:

Good Friday, I invited Hanna, Lena and Mitch to my place for a BBQ dinner. It was a very comfortable night, we ate and drank, played some guitar, watched Little Britain, Took pictures and so on. I was very happy, seeing Hanna and Lena is a pleasure, I feel graceful to have friends like them.

Actually, the photos has already been uploaded, but I just didn't have time to announce it here. Oh well, its never too late to do it now~ *grins* Head to my photo album to have a good look!

Oh by the way, did I mention the pictures of Grit and Pete's farewell is on too? hm... yea they left, I really cherish the time I had with them. First time we met was in my theatre performance, we started to talk about media, art and theatre. Then, it was the Glebe market, mucking around in Broadway, having cheesecake and Port wine together, reunited in Peter's farewell, and dinner in China Town. All these memories are absolutely wonderful, and I do hope I will see this beautiful couple again...xoxo *sob*

Ahemm... I've put some Manly Beach picture on too...

Let's move on! Where are we? Yes! Saturday! I went to watch La Mala Educacion (translated name: Bad Education) with Paul, and it was such a fascinating movie!!!! Excellent storyline and performance, magnificant use of color and texture! Well, I'll write a little review and my little thoughts about this film after this post. Oh dear, Gael Garcia Bernal should stop being so talented and so hot and so gorgeous and so sexy... *faint*

Fele Martinez and Gael Garcia Bernal in La Mala Educacion.

We walked up to The Colombian for a drink after the movie, but it is just weird that we ain't interested in any boys. We tried to move to Stonewall, nothing interesting. My conclusion is "Gael is too hot to not think about him." *drools*

Therefore, I headed to Pauls and had a private sparkling wine moment, it was great~ Then we started to plan having a business together and a birthday party together! How exciting is that!? Weee~!~~!

One thing I have to mention here, Polish is indeed a very nice language, I think it sounds better than most of other european languages. So I'm learning Polish from you, Pauly you fabulous Polish~! hee hee...

Well, and finally it brings us to Sunday. I did nothing!!! Yoo hoo! It's so good not to do anything but sleep, nope I don't care about Cockatoo Island Festival. Oh well, I didn't really sleep all night, actually I did a very special drawing. It is a request by Kath, who wants me to design a fairy tattoo for her. I drew part of it yesterday and finished it today, and I'm glad that she was very happy after seeing my work. Yea I know I am good.

WELL WELL WELL, believe it or not, I just told what I write here to all those strangers on the street, 5 times. That's how I spent my Monday, and it is a pleasant to have my days like these.

P.S. If you see that wound on my right hand, I just injuried myself while moving Kath's washing machine, it's nothing.
P.P.S. I remember the day, but it's better not to do anything.

Not That I Want To...

Desire & Love

No one tends to believe love is what the fairy tale says nowadays, even media wouldn't mythologize any stories. It is a new century of scepticism and a time to put your feet back on the ground.

People in a lot of civilized cities are living with their lonely heart, but they lost the ability and bravery to love. Instead of it, they let their lust and desire out to console themselves. Sleeping with different strangers every night isn't a big deal anymore; Marriage isn't an obligation of life neither.

So back to the basic, what is the meaning of love then? What we have become?

Building nothing, laying bricks.

Death & Alive

When someone we care has passed away, people tend to pray at night, and they all realised there is no such thing call miracle. Voltairianism took away the significance of God and all these intangible figures, as well as hope and faith. All in the sudden, life has lost its meanings and time has lost its law of continuity.

Living in a vain shell with no soul, we started to know that "death" is no longer appropriate to apply on the other side of the binary system of "alive", but it is just part of our life... and it's everywhere.

Somewhere & Nowhere

Don't believe in anything, because we don't want to be controlled. Try to believe something, because we lost a sense of life. Where should we stand?

How do we praise love when we don't believe in it? If love is equal to stupidity and madness, then how far can we go?

How do we praise life when there's nothing worth to live? If life is equal to suffering and endurance, then how much can we take?

Stars in the sky are more beautiful in the past, but it is actually because of the pollution leads to a thinner ozonosphere, and that's why we can see them clearer.

Finding a sense of life isn't an easy task, will a minute of smile help? :)

Can I Get A Hey-Hoo?

Last nite I was too drunk to do what I promised to do, sorry guys. I was kidnapped to Hugo's Lounge by Pauly and got dragged to Stonewall... The rest of the nite, I couldn't really remember... Today, I just wanna bitch people after hangover as usual.

One thing I don't really understand, why is that people like to ask about others opinion on the person that they like? I got people asked about question like these so many times as if I'm the best judge for the beauty contest. For instant, "Oh what do you think about him? My friends said we doesn't look like a good couple... Do you think he is hot?... blah blah blah."

Look, I am not annoyed by that at all, but I just don't understand why.

OK, if you like someone, whether s/he's hot or not, whether you both look like a good couple or not, does it really matter?

More importantly, I'm sure you already have the answer inside your head, then why are you keep asking people about what they think? The only reason I can see is you are not confident enough about your decision.

The funniest thing is, when I gave these people a negative answer, they might start to argue with me, which the sentence always goes like this: "Yea, but..." or "Well ok, but don't you think...". Fine! You are the one who asked me about s/he, now you think my decision is not good enough to be the final verdict. Then why you ask?

I'm not saying I hate discussing this kind of matter, but you ARE the one who know your own feelings. Why don't you tell people your feelings instead of asking them whether s/he's hot or not? Isn't it a feelings is more important than a person's appearance?

I don't understand you people. Now the Leo need some rest...

Oh, before I go, I've uploaded the housewarming party's photos, they are brilliant... Go and check it out! :)

Meeting Pilgrims Under The Northern Star

God It was an impeccable party last nite, and I'm really appreciate all the people who came. Although some people couldn't come in the last minute during some emergencies, most of the things were happening while it should be happening, which was good! And more importantly, I'm glad that Kath has the best time, she bought me a chain of indian birds (or maybe it's chicken) today, how cute!? :)

Barbecue was great! Jelly shots & Margaritas were absolutely insane! My homemade dip was probably the spotlight of the table! hee hee... And... Oh! The limbo contest... Everyone did a very good job, but of course~ I'm the eloquent limbo champion! Seven years of yoga finally has some contribution in my life... *grins*

Since this is the first time ever I have a party in my own place, people who came was very surprised to explore me that they don't usually see when I was outside. :) Namely, my artistic side. That doesn't mean I'm an artist or whatsoever, it's just the way how I express myself... Some of my friends saw my sketching books and my computer's graphics, they were accusing me by not telling them I draw. Haha... now you know! But the best moment was playing my guitar, since quite a lot of people (esp whose from FBi) love The Shins' New Slang, so when I played the song, they were like stunned... then we started to sing. I just love it! >w<
My Upcoming Allnighter Show - 23th Mar, 2-6am. (In case you are confused, it's Tue nite-Wed morning) Email me if you have any request! I might have a guest DJ, so don't miss out! :)

P.P.S. Meeting Pauly tomorrow for Indian dinner!! \(>w<)/

Bluebottle Kisses The Sand With The Last Breathe

It's been quite stressful recently, so the best way to let all the bad chi out of my body is to relax in the beach. Met up with Lezel outside my place and we took a bus to Manly. Wonderful sunshine and cool bleeze, it was an excellent weather for a beach day!

We have some fish and chips, calamari and fried oyster before hitting the sand, it was soooo good! LOVE THE FRIED OYSTER!!!! but it hurts my wallet... (not cheap)

Found a good spot and we settle down, it was very relaxing since there were not many people around today. Yet, there were some bluebottles around and very strong current, so I went quite far to search for a swimming area. Swimming against the current, it was great to swim underneath the wave. Let it exhausts me and laid under the sun up til arvo.

Before going home, of cause, ice-cream time! Coffee + Coconut on chocolate cone... yumm...

Watching At The Same Star

I've been stayed at Hanna's place with Nick and Peter for like 3 days 2 nights, and finally back home now. Feeling a little bit flat and empty, and somehow scary, it's confusing but I know where they come from.

We went to the airport, and sent Peter back home today. The situation is quite weird, I was upset, but more than that, I was scared. They probably wouldn't notice that, since I rarely let my sadness out of my face, my very talented skill would be disguising my negative emotion. Friends are something that main element that form me as a living person, and it is true that I do put good friends as the top priority.

The only thing that went in my head again and again when we drive back to city was: Who will be the next? Will that be the girl who's sitting next to me? Or would it be me?

I really don't want any of these, but it is happening.

Well, OK... Let me write something about Peter:

Peter is a German with a heavy Irish accent, when he talks, it's like hitting my non-stop laughing button.
Peter is a stupid boy with a friendly attitude, always like to talk to stranger, and really believe I'm from Alaska.
Peter got absolutely terrible fashion sense, but would be better if he throw away that Von Dutch singlet.
Peter is a funny entertainer, not because he is funny, but he put so many effort to be funny.
Peter is a superdupa heavy smoker, no one believes he could quit even he said he will after back home.
Peter loves to sing, whatever I said, he can relate it to a song and sing out loud on the street...
Peter always put me on his shoulder and spin like hell, which often make me wanna puke!
And, last but not least...
Peter is a thoughtful, caring and an adorable person, who loves to give out enormous passion for his friendship more than others.

That's why we all love him and miss him so much, but all the good memories would be blazed to our heart.
Take care silly cow. :)
*hugs and kisses*

A New Moment Of Feeder, A Soul-Healer Of New Love

A Great News, too great that makes me faint. Feeder, the band that I worship every single day, has released their 5th album "Pushing The Senses", and it has arrived on my hand gracefully, thanks to Zilber. (unlimited xo)

"Pushing The Senses" is the second half story of their previous album "Comfort In Sound", the album after mourning their drummer who committed suicide. The new album has brought feeder to a new journey, a CD of recovery, but more in general, for all the people who lost someone special.

Anyone who had listened to Feeder before would be quite surprised the dramatic shift of the genre of their music, which basically from punkish rock to soundscaped indie. You may never realise that AIR is actually the major influencial band that inspires Feeder to invent this new dimension of music era.

This new style has attracted bands like Keane and Snow patrol to follow as well, but Feeder make a distinction here by not going too melancholic. Instead of going nowhere but pointless emo, Grant's lyric works as if a lighthouse, guide people for a better days.

Feeder is an ointment, music that can comfort and heal a broken soul.

what can I say? Grant Nicholas is a songwriter with real love, hope and sincere faith. :)
[5 out of 5] Touchdown!

Track Listing:

Feeling a Moment
Bitter Glass
Tumble And Fall
Tender
Pushing The Senses
Frequency
Morning Life
Pilgrim Soul
Pain On Pain
Dove Grey Sands

P.S. Zilber you are the man who rock the world, thank you so much for the CD, I love it and you know it. :)

P.P.S. Stupid Web deleted this post and I have to write it all over again before I forget. See? You can't beat me! I posted this up, so bite me and my passion!
