Time Is The Enemy

Can you believe that it's mid-Sep? Geez... Time is flying. I'm leaving Sydney in mid-Oct, and this is gonna be like forever. One month time for me to do things I love here, and spend time with people that I love in Sydney. After that, my graduate holiday will be reach the end, I'll go back to Hong Kong, find a job and spend some time with my family and friends over there.

I've been trying to relieve myself not to worry about things that I'm gonna left behind, it will work out when time goes by. FBi will have streaming radio soon, internet will let me keep in touch with people here, and I'm sure one day I'll come back for another visit again. But ya know, this is just not working at all, coz it's gonna be very different. I'm looking forward to living in HK again, but in the meanwhile, thinking about leaving Sydney is really upseting me.

OK, I need to suppress this again, ahem... yea, let's talk about it a day before I leave, it's too early to worry right now.

Well~ well well well well... Last week I did lots of thing, went to Come Together Festival 2 with Corynne and Bill last weekend, we all had great fun though the line up isn't as exciting as the first time. Some bands did play very well such as Midnight Juggeraut, Sparkadia, and especially The Mint Chicks. Crazy Mint Chicks singer jumped on everything that's taller than him, even tried to wreck down the Triple J banner. Also, he almost hit the security while swinging the microphone around, that was impressive! Other than that, we mainly focused the day on the rides, Wild Mouse, Pirate Ship, Spiders, Coney Island and more... It was a fun day.

Another highlight would be two excellent gigs I saw last week, namely Hot Hot Heat (canada indie) at Metro Theatre on Wed nite and Hermitude (sydney hip hip/electronic) at @Newtown on Friday nite. Both night I had to queue up a very long time to get in, Friday nite was worse due to shit weather, but it's worth to do it. Billy even declared Hermitude is the gig of the year, what a big call, but I don't see any point in going against it.

Let's talk about Hot hot heat first, I've been waiting to see the boys for ages, crossing finger for their coming and the ticket, and thank god I got them both! (Big thanks to Tiani and Zilber xo) It was so pack since it was a sold out show, but I got a good spot in the front row. The band's performance was great, and I was glad to be surrounded by the crowd who could sing completely correct hot hot heat lyric, coz that's part of the element to make it a good show. However, for some reason the mic went off for like 5 sec, which was definitely not the band's fault but the Metro's set up problem. Alas, I feel sorry for them, but I really enjoy the show. Good to see Susan too.

The night I saw Hermitude has a terrible weather, and we have to wait almost an hour just to get into the venue, you can imagine how's it like. Anyhow, I've been waiting since last time when DJ Krush's visit with Hermitude supporting, who cares about waiting an hour more in the rain? The show didn't let me down, even we were sitting in the back, it was a pure joy. They have Unkle Ho, Plutonic Lab, Ozi batla and Urthboy supporting, which even make the night better. The most amazing moment would be the duo mixed a great song out of a few lines sang by a girl who they randomly picked from the audience. awesome!

OK, it's been a very long tome to update my photo album, what a twat I am! Oh well... I just been busy in FBi, taking care Billy's glandular fever, as well as sending Hanna and Lena back to Germany. But hey! I did do something for my blog, here is your sweet as a reward for waiting in my blog days and nights.

Sweet 1 - Here is the first part of New Zealand pictures, I spent so much time on doing all this, so you better not miss out! I promise I'll finish the rest and let you all know!

Allnighter Playlist 7 Sept 2005

Tonight I did the show with a new girl Sophia Ticehurst, a training show is alwys fun. Apart from this hip hop weirdo called up and freaked her out a bit. This dude was bitching about the aussie hip hop we played were crap and we should listen to his music. Of coz he ended up talking to me and bitch slapped back by me. (I even met him outside, which was very risky...) But somehow I wasn't scare to see him, coz I can tell he does have a heart for hip hop and people who truly like hip hop know how to respect others, especially me - who he labelled as a challenger. He was extremely nice to me when we met face to face, tho I gave him a lesson about how to show respect to me, the radio station and other local hip hop artists. It was funny that he begged me to listen to it and called him just for my opinion and left, he said he doesn't care about who Dan Zilber is no matter how I explain to him that Zilber is the music coordinator. How weird!? Anyhoo, no drama. :)
