Smell You Later Helsinki

Time flies so fast, a blink of eyes and I'm back to Hong Kong again. I also notice my blog has been neglected for a month, oh my poor baby... Mama ain't no slacker tho, it's just a difficult time for me to use the only computer that share with the whole hotel. Anyhow, it's good to get back to my technological home for a while~

Let's do some update here first, where was I? Oh yes, the cruising trip to Stockholm!

Dream Comes True In Stockholm

It was pretty cool to cruise in winter, coz you can see how it break the thick ice. Inside the cruise is all very touristy, ya know, live show, casino, expensive restaurants, spa & sauna and so on. I did had a very good time there with my mates and my intructor Kati, and her good friend Tony who is also working for Finnair. The buffet was something I would like to mention, they have so many fresh salmon in different cooking style, and I digged in so much expensive black (russian chewy one) and white (very tasty and more expensive!) Caviar without feeling guilty at all, sooooooo good~~~! Champagne, House Wine, Beers, Vodka... drink as much as you like! Hooray!!!!!

We arrive Sweden the next morning, it was absolutely beautiful and impressive, even though I didn't stay there for long. This kingdom has everything I always dream of: Old town, Modern city, theatres, museums, great bands, poetic snow view with elegant cello player sitting under the sun. To all my game lovers, that's exactly how it looks like in most of the Japanese RPG games I have played before, do I have to say anymore?

Visiting Kati

We do have a very good relationship with all our instructors, and we are like a family there. It was so cool that Kati invite us and our first aid teacher Kristina to her place, doing what? Do you really need me to tell you? Of course PARTY!

To bring in the Australian culture, I bought 4 extraordinary Australian Wine to Kati, very proud of it! Brown Brothers, Wolf Blass, Rose Estate, Hardy's - They are all my favorite, and everyone loves them. Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!

Kati is such a good cook, she bakes very nice bread, makes excellent dip and mushroom soup! (She told me all the mushrooms were hand-picked by herself in the forest!!! Now this is wicked.) I enjoyed all the food very much, but never more than seeing Kati's photo album when she was a crazy teenager, wearing a see-through dress with a white heart painted on her hair. She said it's a grown up ceremony in Finland, do believe that!

City Of Porvoo

Easter holiday is always a good excuse to go travelling again, especially for whose staying in the hotel in Finland! I was thinking to go to either St.Petersburg ior Estonia, but I dun have enough time to organise the trip, so we ended up staying in the city of Porvoo, northeast from Helsinki.

It looks quite empty in the town since it's Easter holiday and most of the things are sorta closed. However, you never know if you don't explore, and yes we did found this beautiful old town on the frozen riverside behind all the modern shops and malls.

Me and Harry decided to left the group for a while, walked up the hill and checked out the Finnish cemetery. Many people don't really like to get into a cemetery, but it's just not a creepy place really, it was very peaceful there. After that, we went back to the other side of the river and visited the Porvoo Church, it looks simple on the outside, but quite delicate inside. There's a tiny little chocolate shop next to the church, very cozy and very nice shopkeeper, I got to taste their chocolate for free, in return, me and Harry bought some expensive chocolate and share, yumm!

We met up with the group after a cup of coffee and some delicious chocolate, headed to the other river where we can see the ski resort. No I didn't ski coz the snow were melting, but we were singing out loud on the street like a bunch of drunk brits. Well, I guess I have done that with the germans in Sydney before, so why not doing it again? Me and Elaine also sneaked to people's ship, but we headed back immediately after we found out the ship is just painted and there're some dirty shoes' prints newly added. Opps!

Ok, I'm off for some sleep now, will mention the closing ceremony and other Finnish stuff in the upcoming post, so why dun you come back later?
